LWF 2017 Review

What a show and great to meet so many new businesses!

The London Wine Fair 2017 has come to a close and what a show!

Our Director, Mark Curley, attended the three day event at Kensington Olympia and what a beautiful venue for an excellent trade show. Returning for its 37th year the show ran over three days starting at 10 am on Monday 22 May.

This three day event celebrated the UK wine industry and attracted exhibitors from all over the world to showcase their specialist wines. Stretching over two floors the show catered for everyone from large well known brands to small distributors specializing in specific wines. There was something for all to taste and enjoy.

There was also a wealth of information available to assist in educating the industry which included a comprehensive programme of 45 masterclasses. The show highlighted some key trends in the industry including the expansion of the organic sector, the continuing demand for Prosecco and the rise of volcanic wines.

Mark had the pleasure of meeting and talking with many exhibitors and visitors alike. He provided valuable information regarding the compliance requirements of Notice 2002: Alcohol Wholesaler Registration Scheme (AWRS) and Notice 196 regarding duty suspense trade. We hope this information proves useful in ensuring these fantastic businesses continue to operate in line with their legal obligations and helps to avoid inadvertently tainting their operations with the illicit side of the industry.

We made many contacts and look forward to speaking with you all over the coming weeks to provide you the support you need to remain compliant with increasing regulatory burden.

Thank you to the organisers of the London Wine Fair 2017 and all exhibitors for yet another great event. We look forward to seeing you all again next year.
