It’s Christmas time once again where family, friends and colleagues will be getting together to celebrate. It’s an opportunity to have some fun at the pub or club where drinks are likely to be in full flow.
Whilst having a good night out will be at the forefront of your mind, make sure you stay safe. Drink in moderation and know your limits.
The festive season tends to be an incredibly busy time for the 999 services due to party goers. About one in seven patients who end up in an accident and emergency unit, are very drunk and caring for them takes staff away from other patients.
NHS England is making up to £300,000 available over the festive period to fund dozens of ‘drunk tanks’ aka supervised units where those who have over indulged can be checked and allowed to sleep it off, taking the pressure off hospitals and the emergency services.
